Twenty Year Old Skirt

I regularly purge my closets, but there’s this one item I have held onto for years.  It’s a blue and white midi length cotton button up skirt with these huge side pockets.  I was packing the other day so I had declared all my regularly worn items off limits since I would need them for my trip.  I was wondering what I was going to wear to run errands in town and meet my mom for lunch.  I pulled out my twenty year old skirt and thought, hmmm…

Outfit

What I’m wearing:  Skirt, Eddie Bauer.  Top, Thrifted.  Shoes, Shoe Show.  Earrings, Gift.  Belt, Thrifted.  Headband, Gift.

Do you have items in your closet that you’ve had for decades but still wear?  I bought this skirt from Eddie Bauer when my kids were little and now they are all grown!

I’ve always been a “long hair” loving girl, but I’m glad I took a chance and did something new with my hair.

Old clothes, new hair…a little of this and a little of that…

Until next time!

Live your lemonade life!

I’m glad you found time to wear that skirt. It’s fabulous. I too am digging at the back of my closet and I’m planning to dig there once or twice a month and see what I come up with.

I don’t think I have anything that vintage, except my husband! Love your skirt, shoes and cute hair. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.

This is a great skirt, no wonder it is a keeper. I tend to keep things, sometimes unworn for ages and then rediscover them. Dropping by from Visible Monday.

That’s pretty cool that you’ve held onto that item for that long! I still have a few items from high school…but that’s not saying much, since I graduated in ’08….

I have some older things, but tend to go through my closet every couple years and give to Goodwill what I dont wear. I love the skirt on you, and the hair accessory, looks so pretty! i have long hair and have been experimenting too!

Isn’t it great when the things you hang onto become a current trend all over again? Midis are all the rage right now, and yours is lovely. I’m in love with the shoes, too 😉

Your skirt is great and you have styled it perfectly. I have 2 pieces around 17 years old I still wear. My dearly loved Lee Chambray shirt I bought at Ross for $8.99 and my gabardine shawl collared navy blue Charter club blazer that I took the football sized shoulder pads out of. I also saved a special Oscar De La Renta crepe dress from 1977 that most likely is a little too small now, but my main mantra is if it doesn’t get worn, its out the door….I love your fashion questions and answers.
